Thor 2011: Movie Review

The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders. There he starts a quest to find himself, his wisdom and his compassion in order to get ready for the heavy throne of Asgard.

Review:

Ms. Overlord I have your relic finally. Here you are, the legendary hammer of Thor. You know how difficult that was to “borrow” from those crazy Asgardians that think themselves as gods ? Well I had a little help from an inside source but I still had to kill a few dozens of them, and some very big and dangerous piece of machinery so I expect a nice big and generous reward from my dear captain ;) Also I encountered King Thor, he didn’t see me of course, but I did. You remember the movie about him, right ?

I watched the movie in 2D so I don’t know about the 3D version. The 2D version was good but not very good. It was great at the beginning but after the first fight there weren’t any good fights. Well to be just when you place the first fight on the enemy planet with countless enemies and a long beautiful fight you can’t top that…
I think that the girls, and maybe some boys, were too distracted by the main actor, Chris Hemsworth, in spite the fact that I thought he was too crude and barbaric to be characterized as beautiful, but what do I know about women psychology ? :D

The acting was good for the most part, I especially liked Loki, Tom Hiddleston and the old doctor guy, Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd and of course the ”big names” Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. Now Thor had neither too much talking neither many expressions as part of his role so I can’t tell if his act was good, he basically was there to make girls go daydreaming. But I can say that he was a good representation of Thor as presented in the comic series.

I haven’t read the comics, enough, so I don’t know about the originality of the story but as far as I know the story was pretty cool, and also cool was the after credits part that our cinema didn’t let us watch :(

To recap, acting was good, effects were awesome, story was pretty good and fighting was backwards, it started with the big fight and progressed with lesser fights to reach the climax when Loki and Thor had a brother to brother childish fight. The movie was pretty good all and all but not one of my best, and I say again that I don’t know about the 3D version.

From Prada To Nada : Movie Review

About: Two sisters, one a young beauty who chooses passion over logic, the other a law student whose fixed moral compass keeps her from following her desires, are uprooted from their luxurious home when their father suddenly passes away. Out of money and out of options, the women move into their Great Aunt Aurelia's modest, but lively home in the Latino-centric Boyle Heights neighborhood where they find themselves thrown into a world that, despite their heritage, seems completely foreign. Over time, they discover the beauty of the culture they once fought so desperately to hide. And in the process they find the one thing that had eluded them: love.

Review:The reason I watched “From Prada To Nada” is once again yiota. It was not her recommendation, just an entry in her upcoming reviews. An other reason was it's title, once I read the word “PRADA” I had to watch it, I love fashion and the last movie with “Prada” in the title was amazing.

To begin with it is a really weird movie. It follows the huge change in two sisters lives when their father dies and they lose everything. Now they have to deal not only with their fathers death, but also they have to learn to live in a whole different way.

Firstly there are some parts of the movie that I really liked. Nora the more down-to-earth sister was amazing and so beautiful, she was real and I enjoyed a lot her performance. The movie had many funny parts and the clothes were really good too. This type of movies always end the same way so I enjoyed a happy ending, though predictable.

On the other hand there were a lot of things that I did not like. The first and most important was the story, it was too unrealistic. **SPOILER Nora meets someone, falls in love then break up, then make up and then GET MARRIED?? it was really fake, she was really young, she had only kissed him once, though she married him and the craziest part is that he bought her a house before she said yes..SPOILER** There are many examples like when Nora finds really easily a job. Also it has many cliches like the rich girl falls in love with the pour guy that she ignores at first, the evil sister in law, the break-up before the marriage...

To sum up it was not a very good movie but it was funny and easy to watch, I recommend it for an evening of fun. Do not have your hopes up, it is just ok.

Spotlight List: Hero Sidekicks

Spotlight List is a totally awesome meme by Small Review, and its actually one of the things that grows my TBR every week. Every week, we create a theme and then we do a top list on it. Small Review already has Spotlight Posts about Fantasy, Gothic, Historical Fiction, Retold Stories you might want to check out.
Every week, one of us will pick a theme and create the list. Then everyone will comment on this list!

The guys only know the comments from the person who picked the theme and did the choices. They haven't seen the rest.

Before you start with this week spotlight i would like to tell you that's part of a big series of Spotlight i have scheduled. Cause it's really nice to Spotlight stories in general, but there are some times that we just love some certain parts of those stories so much that we enjoy them again and again only cause of those things. So prepare for Spotlights on characters, scenes, battles, worlds, second characters, romance, fun stuff and much much more to come!

Hero Sidekicks (Villain Cartoons)
by Yiota, Johnny

We all know that a no hero/villain can be a success without a decent sidekick. BUT there are some sidekicks that they almost have the level of epicness of their masters or there are better. Funny is that they are actually so many worth mentioning, that we couldn't create just one list. We will have it in 3 parts: Heroes, Villains and Cartoons Sidekicks. They will come alphabetically...today we have Heroes!

Robin ( Batman )
Yiota: Okay..Batman is awesome, but Robin is too! Plus he is epically funny! And he might be a bit hotter XD I totally loved him in the Batman movies..he was falling so easily for Uma Thurman
athanasia: i was never a big fun of Batman, so i have no memory at all about Robin, i know who he is but i cann't remember anything..
Johnny: When me and my brother played batman (Yes we did when we were kids!) I was always robin! Since then i always liked him. I dont know, I always have a natural inclination to like the awesome sidekicks that do all the dirty work
Silvestro: nah I didn’t like that guy, he always needed babysitting distracting Batman and giving a chance to the enemies. Recently I heard Robin dies a lot so I think it’s pretty reasonable that batman got bored of saving his ass sometimes…
Nina: I liked Robin more than Batman. I've seen him mostly on the movie and some cartoons and he always looked younger and more naive. So I'm totally with Robin....

Ramona (Scott Pilgrim VS The World)
Yiota: Okay..she might be the one who put Scott into the whole thing but she was pretty awesome. We saw her fight only once and she was terrific! Do you remember the huge hammer? She was mysterious but cool. It was amazing that she changed her hair matching with her clothes XD I would fight for her too! Also, there is another female at the same series, the Asian girl, who also was helping Scott. I didn't like her that much but she was nice!
athanasia: i haven't watched that movie, but now i want to!
Johnny: I would not only fight, but kill for her. There is something about this girl....No wonder Scot went to all those fights for her
Silvestro: Totally loved that girl. I think the movie should be about her and the geeky guy should be the sidekick. If they make another movie I want to see much more Ramona fighting.
Nina: I haven't seen the movie, so I'm trusting the others....

Venom (Spiderman)
Johnny: He wasnt exactly a good guy, but DEFINATELLY not one of the bad guys. He was always neutral, depending on the situation he either kicked Spiderman's ass, while other times he helped Spiderman. Mixed feelings by many people, Venom is my favorite Spiderman character ever.
Yiota: I always thought he was with the bad guys but for some reason Johnny believes the opposite. So i'm gonna believe him. He is really scary though!
athanasia: who is he? seriously know how do you remember all of them?
Silvestro: Well I thought he was a bad guy too… I will wait for Johnny to justify why this pretty evil and scary face belongs with the good guys :D
Nina: I agree he's scary. He's good??

Legolas & Gimli (Lord of the Rings)
Yiota: Don't care if they are two, they count as one whatever you say. Stand alone aren't that awesome but together...oh my...they are deadly and funny. They were times i was saying "i don't want Aragorn gimme some Gilmi and Legolas". I don't believe Aragorn and Gandalf (okay Gandalf not that much) couldn't go on without them! Yep yep! They were the spirit of the team!
athanasia: ok those two i know and i'm crazy about them!! Gilmi was so funny, but i am in love with Legolas, he, Aragorn and Gandalf were my favorite characters.
Johnny: They are probably the only 2 characters in the entire movies that actually have a more casual approach on the whole matter. After all Human wars arent really their priority
Silvestro: Yup awesome team. I think they made me laugh even more than the Merry and Pippin (who are supposed to be the comedy relief of the movie) did and on the fights they were funny and dangerous and concentrated at the same time, that takes some skill ;)
Nina: They were funny, I agree. And they were a nice break from all the fights and the story and the serious atmosphere the movie wants to pass you....

Snails (Dungeons & Dragons)
Yiota: He actually was the one who made them win even if he died. He is one of the most bravest and coward characters ever. I strongly believe everything was happening by accident. He was only in for the gold. He definitely topped the main heroes since he managed to be like REALLY funny and save the world!!!

athanasia: who is he?
Johnny: HE IS AWESOME! He is the INCARNATION of Rogue mentality in D&D. He is funny, witty kinda greedy, and lets be honest he behaves the same way ALL of us would in his possition. His sarcastic comments on dangerous situations as well as his cowardly nature are so in contrast by the fact that he does brave things. As Yiota said, he is the bravest coward ever. I got so dissapointed when he died :S I wanted the main hero to die in his place! He was awesome! Spoil: Who else hits on a badass elven general?
P.S Athanasia seriously you need education
Silvestro: I am a fun of DnD pen and paper game and I didn’t really appreciate this movie for two main reasons: The bad guy was so damned funny that no one could take him seriously and this guy was the Rogue (my favorite dnd class) and he was just too stupid. I think all the heroic things he did were either pure luck or because he was too stupid to understand the danger involved. That said I found him pretty funny too, but a disgrace to all rogues.
Nina: I know the actor as it is, but I haven't seen the movie. I'll trust the others in this one too....

Ron Weasley (Harry Potter)

The Fighter, Review

A look at the early years of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid 1980's.

REVIEW:
Well, it took me long time to watch the movie, because something else was always in the way. The main reason I watched it was because of the Oscars the two supporting actors won and because it was based on true events.

The good things on the movie are the acting and the story. Both of them looked so real. The actors were all amazing even though, I didn't like the characters. The story is presented well, but in a very real way. Which lead us to the bad things. I felt like I was watching a reality show more than watching a movie. The fight scenes weren't as amazing and wow as in other movies. Only in the final fight scene I felt something like that.

The characters were real. I was astonished at the behavior of some and I have to admit that even if I like the actors staring, their characters were awful. Not that they weren't acting well. As I said, the acting part was really good. But the characters they were mimicking, had awful characters. I don't know if I'm in a place to judge, because I don't leave the life they do, but this is just my opinion.

Bottom line, I don't know if I should recommend you the movie, because the only thing I liked was the acting. But I'm telling you to see it and tell me your opinion, because right now I see the bad stuff.

The Princess Bride Movie, Review

In this enchantingly cracked fairy tale, the beautiful Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn) and the dashing Wesley (Cary Elwes) must overcome staggering odds to find happiness. Giants, swordsmen, six-fingered counts, murderous princes, Sicilians, pirates, rodents of unusual size and even death cannot stop true love from triumphing. Mandy Patinkin and Andre the Giant costar in this modern classic.

REVIEW:
Grandson: Has it got any sports in it?
Grandpa: Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...
Grandson: -sigh- It doesn't sound too bad. I'll try to stay awake.

That quote is the first thing i've learned from Princess Bride. Before it i didn't even know it exists. It was one of my fav quote from Inkheart Trilogy. For a year so after i read it, i forgot about it again. Then i was reading a Ben Barnes interview and  he mentioned it (as the movie who helped him create his accent for Narnia). So i'm googling the movie and i see that it was from 1987! I was like "no way i'm not gonna watch it". I'm a little picky with movies older than 1995 since i will be whining for how fake are or for the special effects ( ex. i started laughing at the Tron movie...i just can't!). Finally i decide to give it a try and i got the BluRay version too..

I have to admit, in the BluRay version is just wow! It doesn't even look that old! And not only that but i fall in love with it! It was the cliche of the cliches! Hahaha! As the quote says it has everything. AND it's so much fun!
Take the grandpa/grandson scenes? LOVE! The kid was amazing. It was like "nah...a book..and no kisses" and in the end it was so into it like he lived it! He was asking things all the time and the grandpa was like "shut up".
And then the princess story. Oh true love..it can win every war or bad guy :P A classic giant more gentle than any other man alive. A guy who does everything for his princess. A princess who just...does nothing. Like NOTHING! There was a creature at some point the good guy was fighting and she was just starring. It bite him, he burned and she didn't even run. She fell down and almost get killed. LMAO.
Of course there was an evil guy who wanted to conquer the world and an evil scientist too.

The best way to describe the movie is with exact quotes or scenes ^^ I usually tweet photos while i'm watching but there were to many scenes, so i just picked some of them now. (Sorry for the greek subs)

-Oh no.no.Please! They are kissing again. Do we have to see it again?
- Someday will not bother you so much

-We will never survive!
-Nonsense. You say that cause no one ever survived before.

-Where am i?
-*creepy voice*   The pit of despaaiir! Don't even.... *coughing and gets back to normal voice -.- * Don't even think about escaping...

-It won't be easy sir..
-Hmmm..try to ruling the world sometime

And while saving trying to save the princess..the good guy can't even walk ^^ He can only speak and move his head actually...

Enjoy :D

Series We Loved: Firefly

Commander Logged

OVERVIEW:

Firefly is an American space western television series created by writer and director Joss Whedon, under his Mutant Enemy Productions label. Whedon served as executive producer, along with Tim Minear.
The series is set in the year 2517, after the arrival of humans in a new star system, and follows the adventures of the renegade crew of Serenity, a "Firefly-class" spaceship. Theensemble cast portrays the nine characters who live on Serenity. Whedon pitched the show as "nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things".[1] The show explores the lives of some people who fought on the losing side of a civil war and others who now make a living on the outskirts of society, as part of the pioneer culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. In addition, it is a future where the only two surviving superpowers, the United States and China, fused to form the central federal government, called the Alliance, resulting in the fusion of the two cultures as well. According to Whedon's vision, "nothing will change in the future: technology will advance, but we will still have the same political, moral, and ethical problems as today."[2]
Firefly premiered in the United States on the Fox network on September 20, 2002. Despite high expectations for the Joss Whedon-led project, by mid-December 2002, Firefly had averaged only 4.7 million viewers per episode and was 98th in Nielsen ratings.[3] It wascanceled after eleven of the fourteen produced episodes were aired. Despite the series' relatively short life span, it received strong sales when it was released on DVD and has large fan support campaigns.[4][5] It won an Emmy in 2003 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series. The post-airing success of the show led Whedon and Universal Pictures to produce a film based on the series, Serenity.[4] The Firefly franchise expanded from the series and film to other media including comics and a role-playing game.

Why We Miss It:

I was drinking the other day with Shadow remembering the good old days when he would raid freely and I would run from the Space Guard and worked as a smuggler trying to make a living while they were right up my ass. I still long for the countless days on the run, hunted mercilessly, barely making it out of sticky situations. Brawls, gunfights. Good times, that reminded me so much of the tales of a fellow smugglers of a series called Firefly.
Where should I begin? This is probably one of the best (if not the best) Sci-Fi series I have ever seen. The reasons are many. First of all the theme of it. It is truly original, its a cowboy-western sci fi that mixes up every culture from chinese to arabian and so on. You can see that by the way people are dressed and act. The most interesting thing however as far as the theme, is that the whole idea of the world is that all nations and cultures are mixed up in such a way that there is little to no difference between people. You see many people from different cultures mixed together in a colorful mix of clothing, languages etc. Also it seems that even the lowest most uncultured person could speak Mandarin Chinese which is funny.
Another thing that really got me hooked up in this series is that it misses the whole "Space-Glamor" that exists in most (if not all) sci fi themed series and movies. Here you dont have the glamorous defender of the innocent, or the embassador-councilor that fights for the people. You dont have generals and a great army and an alien threat or something. Here you have people with an average (if not questionable) way of life. Their struggles are everyday struggles such as, how to stay alive, how to get a job. Off course there IS a bigger plot going on with the 2 fugitives and all, but overall you see that they are just average people struggling. It kinda lets you feel a bit closer to the show. Its more easy to approach it since the problems they have are not so different than many problems a person can experience in real life. Off course as a sci-fi, there are gunfights and spaceships involved.
Finally the thing that drew me in the most was the characters. Each one has a very specific down to earth character that someone can easily identify to. They are not good or bad, they are just people with different sets of beliefs and abilities however they are all bound up by the fact that they are all members of the crew. The other thing that was fascinating was the fact that you see that there are preferences between the group, meaning that some members might be more friendly or hostile to another member of the crew as everyone could show to be more of a friend to another person and less to another.
To end with, i REALLY loved the fact that they were kinda badass and random. They are not your ideal heroes that will fly to the rescue with shining armor and lightsabers or something. They are unorthodox and kinda chaotic, they are more likely to fly to the rescue screaming bloody-murder while shooting around, blowing stuff up while barely making it out alive. Not to mention that they are as likely to let a "bad guy" run away as the "noble" thing to do is, as likely as they are to shoot the "bad guy" in cold blood. Yeah, they are so my type of heroes.

TO END WITH, it was an amazing show that i will hold a deep grudge against Fox network for canceling it. Its a must see for everyone.
Commander out
P.S you will most likely say "OMG I would so do that as well" at LEAST once in the show with at LEAST one character. (I was saying that all the time with almost everything the captain did, and a lot of times I said that with Jayne, even Zoey and Nash. And the doctor.....And the shepherd)

Overlord's Edit: I couldn't resist to post the Firefly Theme XD

London Boulevard : Movie Review

About: A reclusive film star hiding out from the world in a Holland Park mansion hires a London criminal recently released from prison to be her bodyguard and handyman but ends up falling for him.

Review: The reason I watched this movie is Yiota, but she didn't recommend it to me, I saw it at her upcoming reviews so I thought why not give it a try? That was a wrong decision! After I talked to her about it, I realized that she felt the same too..

London Boulevard is a film about an ex-prisoner who the minute he gets released he gets a huge party. From the beginning of the movie you have the sense that he is some kind of a crime overlord, because everyone wants to work with him, but he plays tough and wants out. Unfortunately for everyone else he decides to obey to his nature and kill everyone!

This film is really unrealistic, the only thing you get is violence and cruelty. The dialogs are meaningless and the performances are plain boring.. Generally it took a lot of patience to watch this film and for what? For an ending that was even worse than the movie itself.

The only thing I liked in this movie was Anna Friel who played Briony, Mitchell's scatty sister, I found her role interesting and very challenging.

To sum up I do not recommend this movie at all..

When the survival of a world is at stake, what choice is there?

Lilyana searches for the answer in the thrilling new world she has found herself in. Choosing between what she already has and what is needed will be the hardest decision she will ever have to face. Lilyana Makay, a young woman who prefers to be alone with a good book rather than spend time with others, finds herself in the middle of quite a conundrum. She is the reincarnated Goddess of the land of Makayra, yet this fact is completely unknown to her.

E-book, 270+ pages
Published February 1st 2011 by Courtney Conant (first published January 25th 2011)

Review: Okay i need to admit that i didn't expect much from the book. Funny..everytime i don't expect to like a book it always surprise me!

I generally really liked the book but of course there are some small parts that bothered me and i will mention. So let's see...what i liked eh? Well for starters i fall in love with the main character. Lily is...me. From feelings, her life and how she thinks about everything is me in a way. So i was completely connected with her. She liked to be away with a book than do something else (whatever that was), she was avoiding some certain things in her life cause she felt more safe like it. And when something unexpected that makes her happy happens she totally loses herself into it.
I started from the character comments..shame on me..let's hope to the writing part. While it was simple it had a way to capture you. It was just flowing...I like that the author took her time with the story. First you get to know the main characters, their lives and what surround them and then with little steps you were getting into the main story.
Another thing i need to say it's about the sex scene. You know how weird i'm with that stuff and how much i hate it actually. There was only one sex scene and for the first time in my life it didn't bother me O.O I know right? I think it was mostly cause it happens at a point where you know the characters well enough and you understand. I mean it feels more than a sex scene.

As what i didn't like? I had problem with imagining some characteristics from the people in the book. I still don't know what age Lily is, i imagine something close to 25. And i barely have an idea on how everyone else, except the two main chars, looks. It was like i had ghosts at their roles because i couldn't create an image of them. And maybe that's small for some people but i just hate to not have images of what i read since i feel i can't understand the author's world well enough.

Do i recommend it? Yep yep! Get it! The first day i've read about 100 pages. Second i was really tired so i'm like "i will just go with 30 pages or so for today" and suddenly i was at the page 200 and i'm like "ok..what's one more chapter" and i'm page 250+ with just 20 pages left. Last page? "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME? I NEED MORE OF IT. WHY IT ENDS LIKE THAT? I NEED TO KNOW!!". I guess that means i like it..right? :P

Review:  Two important things before i start the review. 1. I had no idea til now that the book was part of series. I suck i know, but don't tell this never happened to you. I don't really know if i missed something. 2.That's my 2nd steampunk book ever. The 1st was Incarceron and it went really bad, so i can't comment on steampunk-ie things since i don't have anything to compare.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Hmmm...the book was big as you can see and a bit slow. So it felt even bigger! I actually got tired. There was a point at the book like it felt a 2nd part started so i got the chance and stopped it for 1-2 weeks before go on. I think it might could have worked better if it was 2 books and it would have like an amazing cliffhanger!
As i said it was slow for me. And all those human- machines-aliens didn't really working good for me either. BUT i couldn't stop reading. The mystery (with murders!!!) surrounding the story was truly nice created. It remind me some adventures games (like Syberia) that i used to play. Where there were small hints around and you could try guess what goin on, put a piece and piece together and still you were missing stuff and you couldn't stop go on because you wanted to know more! I was actually thinking "i need to solve this one before Milady. it's a matter of honor!". So you see how i managed to finish it :)
What i will truly remember of it though? There was a point something bad happened to Milady (it was at the same point i stopped the book). Like really bad. I am really astonished by the cinematography of the scene! The atmosphere was cold and creepy and i could actually hear myself screaming inside with whatever was happening. Not even movies have that affect to me. It was like the author knew exactly what words needed to make the scene alive.

I was planning to say that i had big problem connecting with the character since i couldn't understand her well and i wanted to knew more of her. But know, we all learned that i haven't read the 1st book so maybe that's why that part didn't go well.
There were no more negative things for me...well yeah..i wasn't really into the humans with machinery parts or the aliens and that kind of magic but aren't those part of the steampunk?

Oh well..i did enjoy most of it even though was definetelly not my style.

Thanks AngryRobot Publications for providing an e-book of the book.

No Strings Attached, Review

A guy and a girl try to keep their relationship strickly phycical, but it's not long before they learn they want something more.

REVIEW:

Normally, I wouldn't see that kind of movie. Not because I'm not into this type, on the contrary, I like romantic comedies, but it's Easter. I mean that Jesus is dieing and I'm watching a movie about freinds with benefits. Anyway.

The good thing about the movie is that it's funny. I wasn't expecting that, but it had some really funny scenes. Then it was the plot. I don't remember watching a movie about fuck buddies before. Maybe on series, but not in an entire movie. And not only that, but it's the guy who falls for the girl at the first and not the opposite.

The bad thing about the movie is that it's predictable. We all know how these movies end. Another thing is that it didn't have enough sex scenes. Shame on me, I know, but when you have this plot, you're expecting more. Also, Adam's and Emma's story wasn't what I was imagining when I first read the plot.

The weird thing was the acting. Ashton Kutcher was on his territory. He knew what he was doing and he was good in it. Natalie Portman was the weird part. The latest movie I've seen with her staring was Black Swan. After that acting where she won the Oscar, watching her on this was plain weird. Don't prove me wrong, she was really good.

Bottom line, even though it was predictable, the movie was funny and I enjoyed it and I recommend it to you all who like watching romantic comedies.

Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops Review

When a covert operation to stop illegal arms sales reveals a full-scale global conspiracy, a special unit under the codename SHADOW HARVEST is formed to reveal the truth.
With two completely different characters serving as the unit's operation core, you must choose from a vast array of weapons and technologies that enhance both characters strengths.
Features a gripping storyline that unfolds organically through the gameplay (doesn't rely on cutscenes to move the story along). The ratio of gameplay to cutscenes is better than 13:1.
Players can switch between the two main characters at any time during
the game to take advantage of each characterΓΓé¼Î“Àós strength as well as combat a sophisticated AI that adapts to the strategies you develop.
Open level design and option secondary objectives leave the outcome completely up to the player to choose.

Review:

Ms. Overlord I have to request permission for departure. Something really urgent came up and I have to murd… eh to visit an old friend of mine that promised to make a game with my name in the tittle. Believe me it will have nothing to do with you or the crew I will be a real shadow, I will go in and out and they will never know I was there, cause I think my pal has a few… hundreds of guards. Well that’s my official application of leave and I will be back in a few days, or not at all. Cya.

Spacepirate Personal Log: Well I was soooo happy to see this game with my name on it and so much promise for covert ops and stealthy killing but then it failed, epically. I still believe there is a good game buried in there but it needs the hand of a major corporation to be fixed ( ubisoft perhaps ). I will tell to people of this intergalactic community the reasons that this game is a piece of… poop.

Gameplay: Really hate it. It feels really terrible to control the characters, it’s like playing a 15 years old game. The battles with the commando guy is either to easy or too difficult there is no balance of power at all. In some battles actually I could kill 10 guys with one clip and without taking any damage and in other battles ( on the same difficulty of course ) 2 guys killed me easily and they weren’t bosses or anything they were plain old soldiers like the 10 guys I killed with ease. With the stealth girl, well if they see her she is dead and most of the missions the main goal is to not see her. So WITHOUT SAVE CAPABILITY, because they thought it would made the game easy I guess, amateurs, I had to replay each mission countless times till I knew where everyone was and their patrol routes, on NORMAL DIFFICULTY. This game really sucks and if you do not believe it yet keep reading.

Story: Almost non-existent. There are very very few cutscenes (as the description says) and they are badly drawn with really terrible voice acting (the Greek dub of Kabamaru had more passion). The result is run, hide, kill, run, hide, shoot, run, hide, kill, run, hide, reload, shoot and so on… And you would think that the story is reaching to a climax at some point, no ? Well you are wrong there is always some boring and long speech that sounds like blah blah blah bad guys blah blah blah have super covert ops top secret US guns on their possession blah blah blah kill them blah blah. And for the big finale well the stealth girl finds out that behind the bad guys is a top ranking US politician or military man (I didn’t even care at that point) and the commando guy who runs to her aid (damsel in distress and the sorts) stays with his big loaded… gun in his hands. And then the mastermind of all evil and good flies away in his invisible plane (maybe the budget wasn’t enough for them to draw the plane, I don’t know).

Graphics: Well like the gameplay the graphics look like a 15 years old game. There are countless collision errors where bodies fly through walls and the animations are… well in fact they were a bit funny :D

That’s it world I haven’t anything more to add to this fiendish game that should be ashamed to carry the great name of Shadow. The only good thing though was the single player coop, or better the tag team, idea they had. Spacepirate out.

I will not provide a buy link because this game is crap, instead I will provide some players’ comments from youtube, most of them:

“She sure walks like a G. This game is if Splinter Cell and Crysis 2 had a retarded child.”

“The person who gave me this game as a gift wants his money back.”

“looks beyond sh*t. like that white, crusty sh*t you see after its been sitting on the pavement for days on end. Nothing more then stolen + badly executed ideas infused with a bunch of feminist one liners.”

“Someone's trying to take on Metal Gear Solid, Lol , They tried to hard and failed. Graphics are shit, The game looks even more shit and voice actors that don't have a golden voice. Other word's, Who ever created this game. Find the nearest supermarket, go get a bunch of twinkies go to a bridge and hope someone pushes you....or jump.”

“i will say that the requiring near perfection on only normal setting is making this one of the more frustrating games ive played in a while though.
some of the missions ive had to replay a stupid amount of times for just being on normal mode.
its just really annoying, because most the time if you ever get spotted as the girl its instant death ->restart... so you have to replay the missions enough times to know exactly where every enemy is and the best way to take them out quietly.
then with the guy, hes all brute force so you take damage from getting shot at and medkits are nearly non-existant after a couple boards in, so you have to repeat the missions until you know exactly where all the enemies are so you take the least amount of damage possible.
basically normal mode on this game feels like nightmare mode on other games.”

Spotlight List: Villain Cartoon Sidekicks

Villain Cartoon Sidekicks
by Yiota, Johnny

We all know that a no hero/villain can be a success without a decent sidekick. BUT there are some sidekicks that they almost have the level of epicness of their masters or there are better. Funny is that they are actually so many worth mentioning, that we couldn't create just one list. We will have it in 3 parts: Heroes, Villains and Cartoons Sidekicks. They will come alphabetically...today we have Cartoon!

Minions (Despicable Me)
Yiota: I don't believe words can describe them. Those little yellow awesome villain thingies! They are mean..they are funny..they are cute..sometimes they are clever. And admit it, you want one, you have spent hours on youtube videos with and you have re-watched the movie just for them too. Come on now...we all did it...
Johnny: There is nothing more to say, I want them!
athanasia: i have watched the movie trailer a hundrent times, i was actually a little disappointed by the movie because i wanted to see more of them!! the BEST villain thingies of all times !!
Silvestro:  Yes pretty much Yiota covered it. Just amazing design and characters, those minions totally rock. And I would want a whole battalion of them not just one.
Nina: I haven't seen the movie, but they remind of the green little aliens with the three eyes on Toy Story. They are cute and many. Probably the only reason to see the movie....

Aliens (Space Jam)
Yiota: I can't believe Johnny remembered them! Hahaha! I so totally love them! They almost succeed in their mission and they look like they are on drugs. I felt really bad for them at the end and i prefer them small than huge.
Johnny: They are the most epic villain sidekicks ever! They are so NOT intimidating, and they really really fail to be evil in the end
athanasia: i really don't remember them..
Silvestro: Didn’t really like those guys… If I remember correctly, because I lastly saw this movie a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, those guys where bullies trapped in weak bodies and used steroids, or something like that, to get huge and grow muscles. Well fail plan and not funny fail, just plain fail.
Nina: They are so small and unharm that you don't expect to transform into those huge and bad aliens. I'm with Yiota in this. They are more preferable small than big....

Bartok (Anastasia)
Yiota: do you guys remember him? the white bat..at least he looks like a bat. Rasputin was so mean! He didn't deserve him! I always wished him to get with Anastasia at the end XD
Johnny: that is true, he is probably the nicest character in the whole cartoon! I dont even know why he is the "evil" sidekick
athanasia: i really don't remember him either, but i like how he looks!
Silvestro: Can’t remember that little fella but I have to admit that when I saw the picture I though he was the Brain from Pinky and The Brain dressed like a bat…
Nina: I've seen Anastasia many times, but I don't remember him a lot. Rasputin was shadowing him. But Bartok's look is telling you his good and not bad....

Pain & Panic (Hercules)
Yiota: Those are little demons right? hahaa..they were the best epic fail sidekicks ever! They couldn't do a thing right XD I strongly believe that Ares kept them just cause they were pretty damn awesome! (Btw, while i was searching google i found that exist a Zena & Hercyles animation? what the hell? did anyone know about this?)
Johnny: I want the Zena and Hercyles animation. Anyway, they are so fail that they were epic!
athanasia: ok they were plain awesome! they didn't do anything right, i liked their figures too so much !
Silvestro: Totally loved those guys. They were like team Rocket from pokemon but they were more evil and much more funny.
Nina: Come on, they were not bad at all. They did nothing right, but they are the ones that keep the comedy part on the movie....

Parrot (Aladdin )
Johnny: He is evil, yet he is useless. However despite his general failure, he manages to do ONE thing "bad" in the whole thing and he manages to actually make the most important thing in the plot.
Yiota: Unfortunately, i will have to let Johnny do this one. I have to admit that i haven't watch Aladdin. I kinda hate him XD But oh well...you go one with your comments though :P
athanasia: yiota YOU haven't watched Aladdin? that is a sock, but anyway i remember the parrot XD parrots are so funny and this one was the best!

Silvestro: This parrot would be a nice pet to any villain, he is greedy, smart and very funny. He also had some moments of righteousness but they aren’t many so no problem there :D
Nina: This character is confusing. At the beginning it's bad and then it turns good and then it tries to be mean again. Right? In a little words, it is always in the winning side, like people....

[Games] Heroes of Might & Magic are getting a 6th installment in the series. Also i believe there is a new Mortal Combat game out there :p

[Music/TV] Oprah dedicated an episode to the Rock Goddesses of the ’70s and ’80. There where many appearances like Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks.I only watched two of them so i will comment on those. 1. Was a duet by Joan Jett and....Miley Cyrus. I'm giving congrats to Miley for destroying the songs, plus being epically awkard and fake on stage. Thanks god Jett save the performances. Miley just stay away from rock XD 2.Was a duet by Pat Benatar and Avril Lavigne. Avril was like really cold or nervous but at least the performance was really good!
